SCRIPT WRITING - C

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WRITING SCRIPTS

  • If you need to move cameras or lights, it is classed as a new scene
  • Film everything you need to in the same location; out of sequence
  • First time a character appears in a script, the name needs to be in capitals letters, then age in brackets, then shortly followed by a brief description of who the character is
For example:
THEO (38)...........Brown hair, Blue eyes, Glasses, Relation to.....

  • Unable to hide who a person is in a script, if the character is anonymous to the audience

Every film is a puzzle, the scripts gives clues

Ext=Exterior
Coverage=Different camera angles, same scene
Intercut=Cutting between 2 different locations
